06/18/2018 to 06/19/2018

The Healing Children and Adolescents through Creativity: Art Therapy Training Workshop

A training event for professionals in mental health, medicine and education. Sponsored by the North Dakota Council on the Arts in cooperation with Missouri River Educational Cooperative

This workshop reviews the basic principles and practice of art therapy, art therapeutic assessments and creative interventions for the treatment of depression, anxiety, acting-out behaviors, ADHD, anger management and low self-esteem. When children and adolescents suffer from depression, abuse, trauma or medical stress art expression is a natural way to communicate difficult feelings.

No prior experience with art materials is necessary!

News & Updates

Last year, after researching the topic and checking in with the NDBCE, Dr. Stacey Meehl, NDCA President at the time, advised that we did not need and were not required to maintain this relationship. We don't believe this will have an impact on any of our members or presenters in the future. If anyone has questions regarding this, they can contact Dr. Meehl at sburk@drtel.net.
