October 16, 2021 - Holiday Inn, 3903 State St, Bismarck ND

This presentation will cover:
Rural Ethics: So how do I practice in a small community?
Technology-Based Supervision: Extending the Reach of Clinical Supervisors

Presenter: Duane Kavanaugh MS, NCC, CCMHC, LPC-MH

Program Goals: Rural Ethics: So how do I practice in a small community?
This presentation will look at the unique situations and problems that mental health professionals face when practicing in a same population state. Whether going to an event in the community, going to supper or shopping, or getting medical services, we often encounter the people that we serve. How do you negotiate these difficult and complex relationships. This presentation will look at the ethics and discuss how to live and practice in the communities we serve.

Program Goals: Technology-Based Supervision: Extending the Reach of Clinical Supervisors
This presentation is a national training developed by the Addictions Technology Transfer Center Network funded by SAMHSA. The training will focus on the use of Technology in the delivery of supervision. The training will also expand this into how we work with clients as telehealth has exploded in the past 18 months. As a professional in licensing counselor said, “this genie is out of the bottle and it isn’t going back in.” The participants will be challenged to think about their views of telehealth services and how these approaches work for supervision and delivery of services to clients.
